Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has replied to Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko for comparing the Kufuor and John Mahama administrations. In a Facebook post sighted by regcollins.com, The Cousin of The President, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, post by saying :
When JA Kufuor left office, NYEP was employing 108,000 youth. 8 years later John Mahama left office with less than 60,000 people employed under YES (which replaced NYEP). 3 years later, NABCO engages 100,000 under Nana.
Manasseh Azure Awuni, who is also unhappy with Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko Facebook post, replied that Mahama has proven far better than Akufo-Addo because he jailed people, cancelled contracts and enacted legislation that made GYEEDA cleaner.
Backing his statement, Manasseh Azure Awuni said, One of the reasons he hated the Mahama regime was that the Mahama administration failed to comprehensively deal with the GYEEDA rot. He further said he was happy when the NPP, on November 16, 2016, held a press conference on the GYEEDA rot, especially the Zoom lion contract.

"there was a GYEEDA scandal, and the programme was suspended while specific actions were taken to clean up the mess, so there is a context to the decrease in numbers. That GYEEDA scandal started with Kufuor, who, for instance, handed Zoom Lion that fraudulent NYEP contract in 2006.
The Mahama/Mills administration made the GYEEDA rot worse. I hated the Mahama regime because it failed to comprehensively deal with the GYEEDA rot. I was, therefore, happy when the NPP, on November 16, 2016, held a press conference on the GYEEDA rot, especially the Zoom lion contract.
They said Mahama could not abrogate it because he benefited from rots of that nature. Then the so-called incorruptible Akufo-Addo take over. What did he do about that fraudulent and needless contract? Remember this contract said Zoom Lion should go to Bongo and supervise sweepers employed by the government and receive 400 cedis out of the 500 cedis allocated to the sweepers?
The Akufo-Addo administration renewed that fraudulent contract. Yes, it was restored. Note that since March 2013, there had yet to be a written agreement between the Government and Zoomlion. So by February 2019, that fraudulent deal cost the government 1.62 BILLION NEW GHANA CEDIS without a written agreement.
This is one of the reasons I have lost trust and hope in Akufo-Addo. So Akufo-Addo is similar to Mahama. In this GYEEDA case, Mahama has proven far better than Akufo-Addo because he jailed people, cancelled contracts, and enacted legislation that made GYEEDA cleaner. These are facts that cannot be contested."
