The Bolgatanga -Zourungu road, part of the Bolgatanga- Bawku- Pulmonkum road, was awarded to Querez Galveo in 2016, and work started the same year. Still, it was stopped by the Akuffo-Addo government for three years.
Now the President, who is scheduled to be in the Region this evening (6th October 2020), has, through the regional minister, awarded that part of the road to a local contractor called My Turn Ltd for asphalt.
The contractor who has not been on site because he has not been paid for previous works done by the government has stopped working on the road for some time now.
Unfortunately, the President has no projects to commission or inspect in the Region as he visits the Upper East Region.
So the regional minister has pressured the contractor My Turn Ltd to asphalt the road this night before the President enters the Region. Hence, the night asphalting of the road.
And this has caused heavy traffic on the road making travellers rain insults on the President and many saying they will not vote for the NPP.
