Dancehall King Charles Nii-Armah Mensah, popularly known in the industry as Shatta Wale, has admitted that he is more popular than President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He remarked: "What my manager Bullgod is saying is true. I'm more popular than President Akufo-Addo".
The kakai composer added that President Akufo-Addo can not sing like him, adding that "Ghanaians follow showbiz more than politics."
This comes after Bulldog, his manager, stated that his art is more popular than President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He argues that Shatta Wale has an advantage over the president, arguably Ghana's most well-liked figure, due to his charisma and appeal to the general public.
In an interview with Angel Drive Host Ike De Unpredictable on Kumasi-based Angel Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Shatta Wale explained, "What my manager Bulldog is saying is true, I'm more popular than President Akufo-Addo".
He added, "President Akufo-Addo cannot sing like the way I sing, and Ghanaians follow showbiz more than Politics".
"Though I'm popular and plenty of people support my music, I will never disrespect President Akufo-Addo because of my popularity. He is our president and deserves our respect," Shatta Wale noted.
