VGMA is my ex-girlfriend

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, best known in the music industry as Shatta Wale, has disclosed his conditions for a comeback in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme.

In an interview with Say d Don on U Sey Weytin, he revealed that before he gets interested in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, It will be necessary for the board to attend a meeting. Discussion to find a reasonable solution to his exit from the VGMA.

"I feel because they are the ones organising it because I have a lot going on with my music and business, it should be nice to say, "We would like to meet with you, Shatta, to inform you that our nomination is prepared."

"So, at least, they should find somebody from their office to say, 'Oh Shatta, are you interested in joining this time? We want you to come on board, and it will be beautiful."

The 'Badman' hitmaker was discontinued from the VGMA awards program following an incident on stage in 2019, where he fought with his most prominent rival dancehall artist, Stonebwoy, after that the partners were sent to court, and both were discontinued from the award scheme for a duo of years.

However, the ban was lifted in 2021, and Stonebwoy has been a part of the scheme since 2022. Shatta Wale has yet to participate in the project.

His colleague Stonebwoy has rejoined the awards scheme, where he performed at the 23rd edition of the VGMA's.

Shatta Wale added: "I don't know why VGMA is behaving like the beef we have cannot be settled." The self-acclaimed dancehall king also said he has no enemy on the VGMA board, so it should be easy for them to reconcile.

Meanwhile, Charter House, organisers of the VGMA, has released the list of the VGMA 24 nominees of the diverse categories.
