Afropop musician Stonebwoy has replied to critics saying he didn't have to join the Def Jam Music record label.
In an interview on Property FM with Amansan Krakye, monitored by regcollins, the Ghanaian artist revealed that he wanted to progress in his music career, so he needed to find the kind of people to support him in his work to get very far.
According to Stonebwoy, he must join forces with the Def Jam Music record label to see the next chapter of his craft.
"If I want to move forward and progress, then it's necessary for me to find out the kind of people that can support me in my work to get very far.
"Just like everybody's work is going far, if we look at our brothers from Nigeria and the global scene, we can see that people are progressing with their work.
"So we also ought to try our best to move forward, and if someone says Stonebwoy was okay, I thank God for that.
"Maybe you wish to be like me and me too. I want to be like somebody, and maybe the level I've gotten to is something you adore, but I also want to do more.
"In your estimation, you think Stonebwoy is okay, so why sign on Def Jam? But I also see myself that where I've gotten to isn't enough, so I need to join forces with them and progress with my craft".
Stonebwoy's music video for 'Manodzi' on his 5th Dimension album featuring Grammy Awards winner Angelique Kidjo is making waves on YouTube in the 5th spot.
