WAEC statistics since 2020 indicate that The performance for this year's result is the best in the last four years. However, WAEC said 4,878 candidates got blocked for failing to bring the learning materials given to them by their schools, and such candidates are to contact their schools.
According to WAEC, 3,647 results have been cancelled for bringing foreign materials like prepared notes, textbooks, and printed material into the examination halls. At the same time, 839 results were also withdrawn for carrying mobile phones in the examination halls.
The subject results of 4,280 and 1,005 candidates have been withheld for various suspected offences. Meanwhile, the provisional results have been uploaded online for candidates who desire to check their results on the WAEC website.
The Council has warned stakeholders to be careful of fraudsters promising to upgrade results for a fee.
"Candidates must note that WAEC results are secured and which can be shown using its results verification system. You can download and use the WAEC QR code to verify results."
A total of 448,674 candidates, 212,453 males and 236,221 females from 975 schools, joined for the examination, representing 5.8% higher than the 2022 entry figure of 422,883.
