Actor Prince David Osei has openly apologized to supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who, he thinks, may have been humiliated by his comments during his campaign season for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the Ghanaian actor, both political parties were focused on winning the election.
In a Facebook post, he wrote, "I deeply apologize if my words during the campaign offended anyone from NDC. We were all focused on winning, but now, let's move forward and live in peace. God bless Ghana."
Many have praised his actions, seeing this as a positive step towards healing and reconciliation after a contentious election period.
However, before his apology, Prince disclosed on Facebook that some supporters of NDC were threatening him.
The Ghanaian actor stated that he was going to protect himself because his life had been threatened.
He wrote, "To some NDC fans and followers, is this what democracy means? Even after winning an election, they revert to violence, insults, intimidation, and bullying.
I shiver at the thought of what would have occurred if you had lost. "Now that you are after my life, I'll be ready. God is my provider and guardian. Be cautious when you come for me. Not everyone is willing to engage in battle. I'm not terrified, just taken aback. @ghpoliceservice".
